Custom Nonfiction Book Cover Design — GASOLINE

A strong book cover can make a lasting impression with a single, carefully placed image. For GASOLINE: Observations After New Covid Inoculations, in Layman’s Terms by Deanna Kline, I created a custom cover built around the dramatic contrast of a burning match against a dark background. The composition connects directly with the title, giving the book a bold and recognizable visual identity.

The orange and yellow flame draws the eye, while oversized, silver-toned lettering gives the title a strong presence. Orange accents within the subtitle echo the flame, connecting the typography and imagery through a focused color palette. The black and charcoal background adds depth while allowing the image and lettering to stand out.

The layout balances the large title with a longer explanatory subtitle and the author’s name and credentials. A coordinated back cover carries the dark styling through to the endorsements and author information, creating a consistent presentation from front to back.

This project showcases my approach to nonfiction book cover design: purposeful imagery, strong contrast, and thoughtful typography that work together to introduce a book’s subject and personality.

This portfolio showcases my original GASOLINE cover design. The linked edition was republished as “Vaccine” Injuries, Lies, and Deaths and features a different cover.
